Cold Inside

Has anyone experienced the feeling of your body being cold inside and you just can't get warmed up? Even if I put on extra clothing or wrap up with a blanket, I still can't get warm. I get this every once in a while and wondered if it could be hormone related.
Thanks for any input.

Re: Cold Inside

I have this happen to me but mostly at night. I even turn the heated blanket on high but just can't seem to get warmed up. Yes I think it is hormone related.

Re: Cold Inside

I too have the chills and find that a hot bath is the only way to warm me through.

Re: Cold Inside

I get the coldness too and have no idea why. I get my heated pad out and curl up in my chair. I also dress in layers. That helps.

Re: Cold Inside

I get this alot. Its awful. I get so cold almost like from the inside out. No extra clothes or blankets will help make a difference. It lasts for a couple days then subsides for a couple days then comes back. I had it for almost 8 months a couple yrs ago and the docs couldnt figure it out. Some said menopause others said infection but couldnt find one. My doc found my Gallbladder was bad and took it out saying it could have been from that. They went away for 2 years so I assumed she was right! Ithe last 3 months I started having some bowel disorder that everytime I ate I would get cramping and diarrhea which is finally getting somewhat better but all of a sudden the same chills are back! I am not sure if it has anthing to do with the bowel trouble or if it means some kind of infection or totalyl unrelated and could be a menopausal symptom. I thought I was thru with menopause but maybe not. Im so confused and I hate these chills.

Re: Cold Inside

I've been having trouble with the chills as well, but wasn't sure if they were related to peri-menopause or not. Everyone around me was either warm or comfy while I felt like I was freezing. I kept thinking women going thru peri-menopause or meno/p just got hot flashes, not chills. All I can do is wear my sweats and wait it out.

Re: Cold Inside

I'm cold all the time too. The Northeast doesn't help matters either. Thyroid problems and low blood pressure and poor circulation can cause us to be cold and it is a side-effect of menopause. I would welcome a hotflash to warm me up. I'm constantly drinking hot drinks to keep my hands warm. My husband, of course, is always hot. He like the temps low in the house so I have to even wear a hat to bed and put the electric blanket on too. The summer doesn't help much either because then the A/C goes on!
At least I can go outside and get warm in the summer. Stay warm everyone.
