Re: stomach pains?

Stomach pains are not normal...nor are irregular periods. Best to have your doc investigate these symptoms.

Re: stomach pains?

Hi Prendi,

There is nothing more “normal” about menopause than irregular periods – skipped periods, short or long periods, heavy or light periods… Abdominal pain of various types is also quite common.

However, Bethsheba is right, severe and/or prolonged abdominal pain should be checked out by your doctor. Not to worry, but it’s better to be on the safe side.

Lisa

Re: stomach pains?

I am just past my year with no period. I often had intestinal problems related to my period in my younger days and during the perimenopause time that got pretty intense on the pain scale. I had some issues this past week where I had painful intestinal problems. Then on Friday the pains were gone and I had what was like a light perimenopause period. I went to a colon rectal specilist Friday who dismissed the idea that the 2 issues were related but I really feel that this was hormonal. I wish I would have gone to my GYn instead and will if the spotting continues. There are just some things you know about your own body that doctors sometimes do not understand.

Good Luck.
