| Re: Intestinal issues
Welcome to the boards, nativepa,
I have seen similar problems on other boards (and there are similar posts here)...although your reproductive cycle may be affected, I doubt your symptoms have litttle to do with the change of life (other than they may get worse at this time).
What's significant about your post is that you apparently had recurring problems before or mid monthprior to peri/menopause...what is even more significant is that your symptoms abated after taking Cipro! I do not think this is a coincidence! It is possible that you have an undiagnosed bacterial infection going on (and yes, some can cause "hot flashes", IBS, and other female problems) and the Cipro may have temporarily helped. I say temporarily because some infections take longer than others to knock out.
I would advise taking daily notes as to what is happening to your body. It is very possible that your symptoms will change/worsen with time and if that is the case, a detailed record of what happens may helpful in your diagnosis.
Is it safe to say you live in Pennsyvania? It may be relevent if you do.
