Is this menopause? - Menopause Message Board

Hi Ladies!

I am 45 and think/hope I am going through menopause. I can't find a lot on the net that matches my symptoms so I thought I would run them by all of you.

Is it possible to go from not having any signs of menopause to hit sudden menopause where I totally missed my period? I have never done this before, and my periods have always been very regular with no signs of even beginning to be different. My friends are all starting to have heavier or lighter periods and hot flashes. I have had none of those.....just this month out of the blue....my period didn't come? I have taken two pregnancy test because that was more what I was worried about, but both were negative.

Does this sound like what any of you went through? Have you ever heard of someone just stopping their period with no spotting or anything like this?

Count your blessings...you are one of the lucky few who sails through without any problems. I have a friend at work who was having perfectly regular periods and one month she never had it and that was it. It's 8 years since her last period and she's never had hot flashes or any other symptoms. But.....you must still visit your gynecologist and have everything tested.
