my wife is 44 yoa and is in the beginning stages of menopause. She does not want to use any kind of hormone replacement, but she always seems to have a fever along with the night sweats etc. Is the fever normal with menopause or is there something else possibly going on. She is stubborn and will not go see a doctor. I am concerned for her. She shrugs it off as normal to have the fever.
I am 44 and going through the VERY same thing. It's horrible! I hate it but am realizing that its all part of life and the change. Has she had her hormones checked? I just did and I am low on Progesterone and Testosterone. I had bioidentical topical creams made just for me to help replace what I have been losing. I have only been on them for a few days. I will keep you posted on how I am feeling. I am hoping and praying that they work. I am truly sorry your wife is suffering. There are many many symptoms of perimenopause and menopause. So she isn't imaging things. Very real changes are going on. I hope she will seek help like the rest of us are. These bioidentical creams are different than the oral HRT's. I am very picky about taking things too.
Is it a true fever or is it hot flashes? Either way she should see her gyno. There are other things she can do to help rather than just taking HRT.
No, it is definitely a fever. She has had the hot flashes going as well. For the past several months now her fever comes and goes. At times, it has been as high as 102, but usually remains around 100 to 101. She believes it is all related to the menopause change, but my concern is that the fever could be something else?????
I have to be honest...I have never heard of a fever with hot flashes. I take my temp and it is normal. That has me baffled. I would see if she might check in with a doctor about that. My temp runs low anyway because I am hypothyroid. Please keep us updated. All the best. This perimenopause/menopause thing is rough.
