OK ladies I got some good news...the doc called today and said I have proliferative endrometrium (no cancer) and after looking at my labs we can wait till my next period comes....see how long it lasts and then report in again (my last period lasted 3 weeks thats how this all started). He also said it did not appear that I was ovulating anymore and that he can correct my symptoms if I want with progesterone after my next period. So I suppose its good..... I am now confuzed after googling it all ???
That is good news! I'm on progesterone ( aygestin - 5mg ) for 3 months and then will have another biopsy done.
Mary - did you have any side effects from the progesterone? My gyn says that it can make you really hungry ( thats all I need !)
Stay well everyone-
Anne
I think I have had sde effects - some good and some not so good. As far as making you hungry - that's probably why I have gained weight. Now that my doseage is lower, I think I'll be able to loose a few pounds. I think I gained almost 20 pounds - but don't let that scare you - over the winter, we did eat out ALOT more that usual, which we usually don't do.
Other side effects were mild - my breats feel fuller/heavier and I've more acne - which I started getting again when I turned 40ish.
On the good side - I've been skipping periods, or when I get them, it's very light. I also think it helps with hot flashed/night sweats and other estorgen dominant sypmtoms - I guess it makes the hormones more balanced.
Hi Mary-
Thanks for the info! I have to admit I'm not feeling too well - I'm assuming its the progesterone.Really tired , lots of breast tenderness ( I've already rescheduled my mammogram cause they hurt so much!) and spotting I've only been on it about a wk so I'll give it some more time - hopefully it will get better!
Anna
