Just curious since I'm still having regular periods at age 55, as I sit here with my heating pad and cramps.....anyone older than that? I did start having restless sleep and some hot flashes last year and started taking soy isoflavones. Now I don't even have those symptoms. Will I ever go through menopause....talk about late bloomers!!!!!!
My mom went thru menopause in her mid 50's, but that was about 10 years ago. The best I can remember is
it lasted about 5-6 years. Strange thing though most
doctors say if you start your cycle in your late teens
you'll go thru menopause later in life and usually
follow in your on mother foot steps, but both my sister and I started our cycle fairly late yet started experiencing menopause symtoms in our late late 30's.
Hope this is of some comfort.
I don't think the rumors are true that we all hear about menopause, for example, my aunt started menustrating at the young age of 10, started menopause at age 60, her mother started menopause at age 39, and menustrating at age 14, so don't believe everything you hear/read.
