i am 46. i have been having symptoms of perimenopause for a while, mini hot flashes, light and short periods etc.
i started my period yesterday morning. around 4:AM this morning i woke with extreme dizziness, it was so bad its what woke me up. then i started having the mother of all hot flashes. not being much of a sweater i was surprised how much i sweated. i thought i was going to get sick. soon it went away and i started to drift off to sleep again when the dizziness occurred again followed by another hot flash. this happened four times. is this normal? i never heard of the dizziness associated with menopause.
thanks in advance for any info...oh yeah is there any herbs or some kind of food i can eat or take to help me through this time? i hate to go on htr as i had a blood clot years ago.
Dizziness can be very common with menopause....By all means call your trusted health care professional and seek individualized guidance from her/him. Best wishes!
Hi, In one word YES, dizziness can and is often a 'symptom' of perimenopause. I had my thyroid checked (normal) and my ears looked at (some fluid behind the drum) but my dizziness or 'wooziness' as I refer to it is from 'the change'. This is such a fun time of life.....NOT. Talk to your healthcare provider and get checked out, but it sounds like you're going through the same thing as the rest of us are. Ally

Define dizzy? Dizzy as in light headed or dizzy as in the whole room is spinning around. If you mean the things were actually spinning then this is Vertigo and should be checked out by a doctor. If you just felt light headed or unable to focus etc then it could be menopausal.
