Homeopathic Remedies?
While doing some reading, thinking, & investigating in regards to my recent perimenopausal diagnosis, I came across something at the health food store ... homeopathic rememdies. I've used them in the past for small things the children would ocassionally have ... fever blisters, colds, bruises, and even acne. I strayed away from using them over the years, but came across two formulas by Hyland's called Calm & Calm Forte' ... the Calm Forte' is for insomnia and the Calm is for nerve tension or sleeplessness. The Calm is a formula of passion flower, oat, hops, & chamomile. I bought a bottle yesterday, took two little tablets before bedtime, and slept better than I normally do. As directed, I also took two more in the morning and again this afternoon. So far, I haven't had the jitters all day ... which doesn't necessarily prove that the pills are working, but if this keeps up for an entire week I might be convinced. The good part is that they aren't habit forming and gave me a gentle and smooth feeling as I fell asleep ... I even went back to sleep after being waken up and helping my son who was sick & throwing up last night. Lately, I wouldn't have expected that to happen for me at 5AM!
I'd really like to hear from anyone else who might've come across homeopathic formulas or remedies that provided relief of any and all symptoms. This has gotten me to thinking that I need to read up on this more, since the natural ways always make me more comfortable in trying something new. I know I have an old homeopathic repretory hidden somewhere ... I guess my reading will start there. I used to use it to look up things for the children; funny I never thought about using it for something like perimenopause. Well, I guess I just wasn't there yet!!!
