 Estrogen patch-Progesterone cream
Is anyone using this combination? I finally saw a female OB-GYN yesterday who is running a lot of blood work to find out where my hormone levels are. (I know, I have read in many places that blood tests are unreliable and I told her that.) She said that we could do saliva tests but "they" are now finding out that they "CAN" tell your levels pretty accurately by blood tests. ??? I don't know what to think anymore. She "seems" like a very knowledgable and intelligent person and really took a long time with me for my first visit. She also recommends reading Christine Northrup's and Elizabeth Vliet's books...so.
My concern here is, she mentioned that she would like me to possibly have estrogen replacement as well as progesterone because of all my symptoms, age (44) and the fact that I had my uterus removed 11 yrs ago. I thought that it is BAD to take estrogen...not as bad if you are also on progesterone,...but still not "good" for you. I'm very skeptical because I've gotten to the point where, because of my past experiences with doctors, don't know who to trust anymore...do any of them really care to treat the "whole" person and care what happens to them 5,10,20 yrs. down the road? How do you all feel about this? Estrogen or not?
