Estrogen mimetics - Menopause Message Board

I have read that prevalent industrial chemicals have estrogen mimetic properties. One indication has been the femininzation of male fish in rivers that receive effluent containing industrial chemicals.

It seems that it is not just one chemical but rather the combination of such chemicals that exacerbates or amplifies their effect on the organism.

Does anyone know if there is info on such chemicals which can exacerbate menopause symptoms ?

You know, I did do a Google search on this a couple of years ago and found some interesting information.

Yes, I have heard of chemicals influencing hormones, however, I have heard it correlated with girls entering menstruation at very young ages such as 8 years old.

I once heard that plastics, such as Baggies which we wrap food in, or plastic wrap , contribute to this (early onset of menstruation). I would suggest a Google Search. I also find the topic interesting.
