early menopause?? need help please - Menopause Message Board

Just wondering if anyone can offer some advice. I am 29 years old and for the last few weeks have been having really really bad hot flushes and when i am getting them i feel quite faint. I can suffer 4 to 5 a day. I also have lost all off my sex drive since the birth of my daughter who is 15 months old, the way i feel right now is if i never ever have sex again it would suit me. My mum mentioned it might be the start of the menopause and was just wondering if anyone can give me some advice please.

It sounds like it could be early menopause. I would definately go to your doctor and have your hormone levels checked. If your not going through menopause, birth control may help. I don't really know much about going through menopause natrually. I hope i am of some help. Either way I would definately see a doctor.

You may want to have your thyroid checked as pregnancy makes your hormones go wacko. It is not uncommon that women develop thyroid problems after having a baby. You sound kind of young to be going into menopause yet. Have they checked your thyroid levels during your pregnancy? Some times these thyroid problems are not permanent. I hope this helps.

I was officially in menopause in December of 2002. I was 22. I had endomitriosos and didn't know it. I am now 23 and had a complete hyst. with ovaries removed this past January. Menopause can happen at any reasonable age if something is going on with your body...not saying something is wrong with you, but you should go to the doctor and make sure you're ok. I never would of thought I'd be in menopause before my mother..lol. I'm 23 and she's 44.
