Endometrial Ablation - Menopause Message Board

Hi everyone,
I have made a few posts. I am the one with the hives and the heavy bleeding(clots) twice a month. Any way my doc said I am heading for a Endometrial Ablation. Has anyone out there had one of these?
And also endrometrious? (spell)

I love this message board it's a great place and I read it almost every day. Thank in advance to all.

What is the condition that you've asked about ?
I knew people who've had endrometriosis, but I have never had it. Would like to know more about what you've mentioned, though. At least your doctor has the foresight to prepare you in an informative manner. That's good.

Hi there,
from what i was told by my gyno. it is a out patient treatment where they laser your uterous. actually killing the inner wall that sheds every month. it is better that having a hysto. you are only down for three days and you do not have any more bleeding after that. you see i have had periods a couple a times a month and very heavy clotting and pain, also my stomach is bloated so bad that i look 5 months pregnant. they did a biopsy on me and i am sceduled for a ultrasound on the 12th. then i will sit down with the doc after the results are in and decide then if this is right for me.

Oh, now I see. Well, it sounds a lot better than conventional surgey. It doesn't sound like it would be bothersome at all. If it helps your symptoms, I'm sure your doctor knows and has done the procedure many times. It's great to learn of these techniques. My gynecologist always said my uterus is in good condition, so I never had to read up much on specific uterine issues.Please post about how it goes for you ~ MrsKramden

About the hives...during the last two years of my period, I would occassionaly get a hive right before my period. Have you been told anything about that ?I always thought it was strange and correlated to my period.
