Question Has anyone heard of "Eat 4 Your Blood Type"?

I have been having a hard time with surgical menopause for quite some time now, including gaining a lot of weight in a short period of time not being able to loss weight. Recently, I consulted with a Holistic Doctor and she told me I should be on the "Eat 4 Your Blood Type Diet". I would like to know if anyone has been on this diet and what you think. Any comments would be welcomed.

Hi sassy, My daughter is on a diet programme called "Sureslim". They do a blood test, then work the diet out depending on the test results. She has had a very good weight loss with this programme.

Sassy, I have the books on this way of eating. The Eat For Your Bloodtype book shows what the 4 different blood types should eat in order to live a long and healthy life. They are all different diets. I am an O- person and the diet they outline for me in this book is the exact diet I have always eaten - ATKINS!!

Very good read, get the book!

Thank you for replying. Kirra: is Sureslim similar to the "Eating Right 4 Your Bloodtype"? If so, does your daughter feel better and what type of blood does she have. I am blood type A. I should be a vegetarian, which is good for me because I'm not that fond of meat except chicken.

ssmarilyn: Was there a reason that you purchased all the "Eat for your blood type" books? I just purchased the first one yesterday and the book makes a lot of sense but the diet I should follow is very restrictive, which I don't mind. I just want to feel better. The only thing I am scared of though is eating/drinking soy products, because I read somewhere that a person who has a thyroid problem shouldn't consume soy. Oh well, I'll just keep looking for information. Thank you again for your responses.

Sassy, I purchased the books because I'm a real freak for learning new ways to improve our health and extend our lives. Plus I have hypothyroidism, ankylosing spondylitis and fibromyalgia and wanted to find the best possible diet for myself and my medical conditions. Turns out that us O people are predisposed to arthritis, which I have, and the spinal problem I have, ankylosing spondylitis feeds on starch...so the book fits me very well. I can't eat starch, it makes me sick and makes my arthritis flare up. I think there's alot of truth in each bloodtype needing a unique diet.

You're right about the soy, it supresses the thyroid, so it's a huge no-no for anybody with hypothyroidism.
