Question chrysel

my wife is 48 and in january this year was told she was at the start of perimonopause, since then she has changed. I did notice 6 months prior little changes anyway but didnot realise at the time, she has become very detached started going out with friends a lot younger than herself, saying she felt differently towards me and wants her own space.she has all the classic symptoms of menopause as I have read up on them, she has abandoned her 15 year old son as well as me and making sence in what she is saying or doing. what am I to expect next, have I lost my wife, is there anything more I can do. we have been married for 26 years

Re: chrysel

you should talk to your wife. no-one here knows what your relationship is like or what your wife is feeling/thinking so it's impossible for anyone to comment. there are many more reasons than 'menopause' for a situation like this.
in my opinion of course.

Re: chrysel

Hi chrysel,
I agree with liverpool sue here totally. And you might also consider that she is just mourning her youth. I've been doing that. Most (not all) of my friends online are younger adults (however, my "real-time life" friends are not younger). But as Sue said, I'd definitely ask your wife for a talk! A must to help your marriage. Tell her what you've stated here, be honest & let her know you do love her. And hopefully this phase will pass sooner than later. Good luck & God bless, ~Karen
