Four years post

Hi, I am four years post meno...last period was in June '06. I've had very few hot flashes thank God. The only thing I experience is the mood swings which aren't really bad but I do get them. Things will just set me off that normally I could care less about. Right now my thing is a heaviness in my uterine area or extreme lower abdomen. Not sure why this is or what it is. Anyone experience this? Sometimes its uncomfortable.

Re: Four years post

Hi thenewmrsp,
Although I'm not post-meno (on my way), my mother is and has that same feeling you described in your lower abdomen, as well as uterine problems. Have you asked your doctor about this? Just wondering. Often times in aging women, our bladders begin to sag (lol, among other things, personally speaking). It may be as simple as this for you too. However, I'd get it checked for your own piece of mind & to make sure it's nothing else.

In addition, there's an herb called St. John's Wort that specifically targets mood swings. It doesn't work for everyone, but that is it's function. And do not take it with any other anti-depressant/anxiety med! You can find it in any vitamin section of a major store. Hope this helps and that you find answers and relief! Take care & God bless, ~Kaz
