how do i help my husband through this peri ordeal?

Hi! I've just begun what I think is perimenopause and my poor husband is not knowing what to do. He doesn't know why I have my mood swings, he doesn't know what to do to make it better, and I don't know what to tell him. There's books for women on how to deal with this, but I don't know how to help my husband until I even out so that he can understand what I don't even understand what is going on in my body and mind. Any advice???

Hi Worm01,

I would try talking to him and just explain that your body is going through many changes at this time and probably for years to come. Another idea is to go to your local library and checkout some books on the subject and read them together. There is alot of information out there. One of my favorite books on the subject is by Christine Northrup, M.D. called the "Wisdom of Menopause". It discusses all the aspects from peri to meno and what exactly is happening during this time. Also, Dr. John Lee has many good books he has written also.

Just tell your husband he is going to have to be patient with you during this time because alot will start to change.

I am so good at it now that all I have to do is give my husband "the look" and he starts a running!!!!!!!

Hang in there!

Missy
