I just joined this group, I turned 50 this past June and Oy I guess its started off with a bang
I got my period the 14th of the month and it hasnt stopped yet, went to the GP yesterday and ,it wasnt my regular dr, but my god he did a pelvic exam, then took a biopsy ,I thought I was gonna die, it hurt sooooooooooo bad, I was crying my eyes out.then they send me for a stat Ultrasound, which I did at 3 pm after drinking what seemed a gallon of water. well they found fibroids.
now where to go from here? I dont want to bleed like a stuck pig for years to come, but I also dont want to have to go on extended periods of HRT, has anyone gone through this and when does it end?

Have you tried seeing a gyno to discuss the fibroids? I think I would start there. Fibroids usually shrink when menopause occurs. Also, perhaps a birth control pill might help to regulate your period.
I know it seems like if it's not one thing it's another. Just try to hang in there!
