Okay I feel like my whole body in is rebellion. Body Aches, leg cramps at night, Hot flashes, horrible constipation, and now I have GERD and Hiatus hernia. I have had so many tests. But, the worse thing I can't understand is with the stomach problems, I have the worse thirst, and dryness in my nose, throat and mouth, and a constricting feeling in my nose. Have also had blood in my throat. I feel my whole body is drying out. Had test for Sjogrens and negative. Haven't had a period in 9 months. Last year went 11 months. I am so tired of worrying about what is wrong with me and wondering is it all hormonal.
I too have most of those symptoms, stomach issues GERD and hernia also. Alot of women have the stomach issues during this time. I too am drying up also, everything is dry, my skin, my hair, my eyes, my nose, everything!!! Make sure you get checked for diabetes, sometimes that can make you really thirsty. I think peri/meno just sucks everything out of you. Make sure you are drinking alot of water, not soda or teas/coffee. They will dehydrate you.
MLJPATRIOT: I agree with the other posters. Be aware of the dryness in your house being that it's winter. Run a humidifier if you can. Use creams and lotions on your skin. Dry skin and excess mucus is also a symptom of estrogen dominance. I am constantly drinking also. As far as the constipation, start taking some magnesium and increase your "p" fruits - pineapple, peaches, pears, prunes. They all help with the bowels. Stay away from the BRAT foods - Bananas, rice, apples and toast. They're binding. Eat nuts, salmon, fish, and lots of green veggies.
Make sure you take Calcium and Vit D with the magnesium. It's a pain going through this menopause. Hang in there.
