Vaginal burning????

Hello everyone, I'm new here and I'm so glad I found this topic being discussed. Two months ago I started having vaginal burning. No itching just slight burning inside the vagina, nothing on the outside. I've been checked for yeast, vaginosis, STD's, pap test, and UTI's all are negative.

The gyno has even tried several different creams but it still continues. After reading a little about peri-menapause symptoms I'm wondering if this is a common symptom...Any input would be appreciated.....

Re: Vaginal burning????

Do a search on vaginal atrophy, as that can cause itching, burning, stinging, redness among other things. You don't have to be post menopausal for this to affect you. Good luck

Re: Vaginal burning????

you could try some vaginal estrogen cream and see if that helps ..you would have to see your doctor for prescription and you could try a very low dose..

Re: Vaginal burning????

Thank you both so much for the info...I did look up vaginal atrophy and it sounds like that may be the problem... What I don't get is if this is so common why on earth does it seem a lot of ob/gyno's do not have a clue as to this condition?????

Re: Vaginal burning????

because they're doctors and not menopausal women?? I think a lot of us feel the same way. I found showering every morning and night, no soap, just warm water was helpful. Cotton knickers, or at least cotton gusset. If at home I'd not wear underwear. The heat and perspiration made it worse.Mine got so bad i was not sleeping due to the itch, and if yours gets to that stage let me know and I'll tell you what helped there. It will get better. I do find stress makes mine worse as well. Good luck

Jude
