When I had my second child my uterus ruptured during labor. I had to have one ovary and a fallopian tube removed. Now, at the age of 48 (49 in December) I think I may be entering menopause. My periods have always been on schedule and are always the same- last 5 days, first 2 days HEAVY flow (I don't leave the house), large clots, last day is spotting brown. Anyway, this month my period only lasted a day and a half- no clots and very little brown. My libido has always been very good. I was told I have 3 times the testosterone than I should have. This doesn't have any ill effects aside from some chin hair. Aside from the strange period and the lack of libido I am not having any other symptoms. My question is: since I am missing an ovary, would I enter menopause earlier than if I had both still intact? My boyfriend is very upset about the libido part- we've always had a very active sex life but now I'm just not in the mood. It happened when my short period ended Any ideas/advice would be greatly appreiciated.
