I haven't had a hysterectomy. But, I have had a tubal, followed by heavy periods and cramping. I'm on birth control for the sole purpose of helping with that problem. I never took birth control prior. So, for me, it solved the problem.
Sometimes women stop taking birth control after a tubal and notice a different in their periods that birth controls pills unknowingly had helped.
I'm not sure if that's an option for you. But, I wouldn't rush into anything permanent, if your unsure of what you want to do with your body.
If a tubal had a big impact on you and maybe your hormones, a hysterectomy may have big impact on you as well.
