Bi-est oral vs cream dosage, absorption rate?

Hi - My wife is switching from oral Bi-est to cream, to see if it will help some of the side effects from the oral form. She picked up the cream on Friday, only to discover later that evening that the prescribed dose was 3 times what she was taking orally. Since it was too late to call the doctor or the compounding pharmacy here on the east coast, we called a pharmacy in California, and that place claimed that usually when switching to the cream, that the same dose would be given. However, today her compounding pharmacy claimed that the absorption rate is 3 to 1, so the prescribed dose is equivalent to oral dose tt she was taking. Does anyone know if this is true or not? Thanks. - Mark
