Breast Pain - One Side Only - Not Cyclical
I am 53 years old and although not yet post-menopausal (recently had my hormones checked), I don't really have my period because of my Mirena IUD...it pretty much has stopped them altogether, so I don't really know "if" or "when" I am having my period.
For the past 6 months or so I have had a pain in my left breast. It's not constant, but nagging. Not sharp, but just nagging off and on. I can't attribute it to my monthly cycle because it's more often than just monthly. The right side doesn't bother me as much although it does "get my attention" now and then.
I have had a mammogram (diagnostic) on the left side last August...nothing found. I had my regular mammogram on the right side in October...nothing found.
Should I insist on an ultrasound? Could there be something the mammogram has missed?
Thank you for your input.
