I have been on vivelle dot for about month so far after dealing with menopause symtoms for the past couple of years. I love the stuff so far, feeling more and more every day like my old self and even starting to lose weight. The only thing is I am reading that if I still have my uterus (which I do) that I should also be on a progestrogen also because of endometrial cancer. It has me concerned and I go in for a follow up appointment in a week, is this something I need to bring up to my doctor? I know there are risks with HRT but just want to make sure I am not raising it even more. thanks for any input. Lisa

I would definitely ask. I also have my uterus and am on Activella which is a dual med.

I tried the vivelle dot for a short time but it gave me migraines so my doctor switched me to a compounded estrogen cream and she gave me a progesterone cream too because she said you should not take estrogen alone if you haven't had a hysterectomy. Now that my estrogen levels are high and my progesterone is low, I just use progesterone. I get my levels checked once a year and they also check testosterone. Some pharmacies can compound a cream with all three hormones if you need it.

So happy that I saw this thread!...I was prescribed Vivelle Dot .1MG just today and came here looking for input about it...I am so hoping that it will relieve my hot flashes and moodiness, even though I'm only perimenopausal right now...I also have a Mirena IUD, which has progesterone in it and my doctor said it would be a good idea to go ahead and keep that to stop any heavy bleeding that usually comes with menopause...my question is, how soon after using the patch do you start to feel relief from hot flashes/sweating?
