Good Grief... is this peri-menopause?

I have not been feeling like myself lately AT ALL. Here is what's been going on...nausea at times, a few nights a week I will have cold/sweats in bed, occassional hot flashes during the day, fear of dying or having an illness, sometimes I feel like nothing makes me happy, get the blues, feel short with my kids at times, irregular periods, moody, feeling like I do nothing right, laziness/fatigue/lack of motivation, lack of appetite. This isn't constant...just some days...but boy oh boy it's no fun. Anyone have these symptoms? All replies appreciated!!

It certainly does sound like perimenopause to me. My advice? Get some blood work done. Then you will know for sure, but you seem on the right track to me. Menopause is not for sissies!

Re: Good Grief... is this peri-menopause?

I think that there are two blood tests that can also be useful in determining if a woman has gone through menopause, and MAYBE, is going through perimenopause, but I could be wrong: One measures the FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone) level; the other measures estradiol (the estrogen produced by your ovaries).
