Hi jojopooh I get breastpain usually in one breast, the pain will switch to the other but mainly I get it in my right one. I take ibuprofen which seems to help. I get most other symptoms which are posted on here as well but my GP relates them all back to anxiety (which is probably right).
Hi girls, I am new to it all and have every symptom listed except the breast pains. Do you take something for anxiety? Is the anxiety worse at certain times? Will medication relieve the other symptoms? Sorry about all the questions but I am feeling low today and was just wondering if I should be asking my doc for a new pill? xx
Hi jobievans, sorry you are having a bad day. I was prescribed anti depressants for a period of time which only seemed to mask the problems, I have found more help on here to be honest, I like many more out there can't wait to be done with this. My husband thinks I am going mad some times!!
I have in the past had a few cysts, all of which have been drained, although I have got more of these in the past 3 years. When I have asked about the breast pain they have advised me to take ibuprofen, which to be fair does take away the pain.

The anxiety is definitely worse at different times. When the hormones are spiking and dropping are the worst. My anxiety was so bad from peri that I had anxiety attacks many times a day. My brain would shut down and I couldn't function. I could barely walk and would spend most of my time in bed. It was very bad. I tried four different antidepressants before I found one that worked for me and now I'm fairly stable. AD's do work for anxiety, but sometimes you have to try a few to get the right one. I take mirtazapine and trazadone which are sedating AD's and I also use ativan occasionally, but you have to be careful with tranquilizers, because if you use them everyday you can get addicted. I believe that the anxiety is caused by fluctuating hormones and if you can take something to balance the hormones it could relieve the anxiety. In some people, though, the symptoms are so severe, or they can't take hormones, so AD's can help. I know they have helped me. T
Thanks for the help and the replies. Its got to be the hormones because this morning I was anxious and by 10.30 I was on top of the world, for a short time. I started HRT and am waiting for everything to balance out which will be in another week or so. I tried BI hormones without much help so I have given in to trying this plan for three months and then back onto BI or anything else that works. I have been told that a product called MACA is the new natural hrt and gives you energy and sorts depression, anybody heard of it or tried it? I have taken xanax a few times when I have felt anxious but it put me to sleep more than helped the feeling so I am reluctant to use them often. Will just have to hang in there for another week and hope that once I start on the progestrone pills the anxiety will subside. Have a happy day ladies. xx
1. Anxiety
2. High blood pressure - due to anxiety?
3. Poor concentration - due to anxiety?
4. Sleeplessness - due to anxiety?
Tried HRT, had one long endless period and felt like I was delaying the inevitable. Went off of antidepressants because of NO libido and weight gain and didn't like having to take something every day forever. I actually use otc anti-histamines for the calming effect. I would like to ask the doc for something I can take on an as needed basis, but I have crappy insurance that doesn't cover office visits or prescriptions. I've just ordered some L-Theanine that someone recommended to me. Hope it helps, this is getting old! Bless everyone of you for reminding us all that we're not alone! :-)
It stinks women have to go through this. I have most of the symptoms too. The main symptoms I have are feeling tired, trouble sleeping through the night, frequent uriniation, hot flashes and chills, lately sore joints and muscle aches, sometimes moody, I guess some anxiety because of all these things I am feeling. I have my yearly checkup in April, so I will talk it over with my doctor, glad she is a female, she understands what I am going through. {{{HUGS to all the women on here}}}

3. Anxiety about heart palpitations caused by anxiety.
4. Anxiety about no sleep due to anxiety.
5. Anxiety wondering if you'll ever feel normal again.
The good news...it does get better. Took me about 5-6 years and some
anti-anxiety meds to get back to normal.
OMG..Sorry but that IS funny....This is me to a tee!! My anxiety meds have helped though.
My other symptoms are: Shaking/chills (am always worrying that it's a side effect of the anxiety meds!)
Temperature swings (that's the perfect way to describe it!)
Not hot flashes (yet) but after the extreme chills the heat creeps up my legs at night.
Anxiety can cause shakiness. When peri first started for me, shaking was my second symptom. The first was hunger every two hours and then the shaking started. I blame everything on anxiety from fluctuating hormones. T
how many of you are in menopause or Post?
Im 54 and havent had a period in over a year. I am so debilitated by my symptoms that I dont even know where to turn to anymore
I have struggled with anxiety , being chief complaint for years and take anti d for that...but came off of it and went into w/d really bad...been slowly trying to get back on the zoloft but its been a rough ride.
lately I feel "washed out" so to speak, have absolutely NO energy. I stopped taking B vitamins because I felt like they were causing me more anxiety but now I think I may NEED them.
I tried progesterone cream for several months and although I felt it helped with sleep I really didnt think it did anything else for me
just wondering what you all do to get some get up & go. I do exercise daily, either powerwalk 3 miles when weather permits or do it in treadmill here at home.
Have you tried antidepressants? Perimenopause hit me 3 and a half years ago and the only thing that makes me somewhat functional is my combo of Mirtazapine and Trazadone. Without this medication, I suffer from debilitating anxiety and depression. I have no history of depression or anxiety, so this was a shock to me. I have suffered from pms for twenty years, so I feel that I'm very sensitive to hormone fluctuations. I tried four different antidepressants to get the right one and it hasn't taken all my symptoms away, but I am functioning. Hormones can do a number on your brain, and it's not a sign of weakness to ask for help. T
I use Mirtazapine too. It's what works for me! No history of anxiety or depression either!

I've been wondering about the shaking (more like total body shivering) I've been getting. I was starting to wonder if it was being caused by my meds for my anxiety. I'd think if it was the meds I'd get it each time I used it.
The tension builds up in your body so high that at some point your body has to get rid of it. The AD's I take now have gotten rid of it but at the start it was very scary. I finally realized if I just let it happen and didn't fight it, it would eventually go away. Kind of like a panic attack but in slow motion. If it was really bothering me, I would exercise but it would go away when it was ready to and not before. T
