Three Testicles

My husband recently told me he has three testicles. Is this very common? Should he go to the doctor to have this checked out? Plus we are trying to get pregnant, will this affect that?

Thanks for any replies

I doubt it's "common". This is the first time I've heard of it. Does he just think he has 3 testicles or does he know for sure?

Um, forgive me for sounding rude but I can't think of another way to phrase this:

How, if he HAS got 3 tessies, have you not noticed before now? Surely something like that would be quite obvious

But either way I've also never heard of it before, but also if it's not a problem for the two of you then I wouldn't worry about it, but maybe a trip to the docs to get it checked out, make sure it IS a testicle, just to be sure?

Has your husband ever had any kind of surgery on his testicles? After my vasectomy, I felt something like a third testicle. That was 18 years ago. I can still feel it but it's not as big anymore. It's scar tissue.

it's really not as uncommon as people think. medically, it is called polyorchid.
if it affects chances of pregnancy at all, it would increase them. it is certainly nothing to worry about at all, unless he happens to be riding a boy's bike.

Re: Three Testicles

Is he sure he's not feeling his Epididimus and mistaking it for another testicle? (small glandular structure attached to the testicle...if swolen, it could "feel" big enough to be mistaken for another testicle)

Regardless . . . SEE A DOCTOR ASAP! We're not able to diagnose your husbands testicles on the Internet! If I felt that I had 3 Testicles, you bet I'd be in a waiting room right now with a little paper frock on waiting anxiously for the Doc to check out "the boys" for me!

Good luck, and keep us posted on the results. There may be another anxious "PolyOrchid" (as tommy124 put it) out there clinging to this board for his diagnosis, too!

The term is "polyorchidism" There are less than 100 confirmed cases worldwide......so maybe it is a cyst. Get it checked out.
