Exclamation small bump on groin-painful

I noticed a small lump/bump on my upper inner groin area. The lump is not in the scrotum but right next to it in the inner crease and it is painful especially when pressure is applied to it. It has only been there for about two days now and I can't think of anything that it would be so I just assumed to let it go away on its own. But if anyone knows what this might be or thinks that a doctor would be required could you let me know. It is pretty much right where your groin muscle would be on the inner crease between the leg and the groin. thanks for any info.

It might be a boil. I had one in that same location once...and it hurt like the dickens. Went to the doc. He numbed it and lanced it. Never came back.

Re: small bump on groin-painful

Could also be the beginning of a pimple...common to have them in the genital area. They hurt like heck but will usually go away soon. Although best to leave it alone to prevent infections, you can open it and drain it and the pain will lessen. If that's what this is, keep the area clean and monitor it for any swelling or change in color, shape or size.
