I'm sure you'll grow a bit more, but wishing for 5'10'' is a bit much! Are your grandparents short as well? I know that both of my parents are of average height and my sister is also, but i am only 5'....my grandparents on both sides are on the small side, so that is why i am so petite.
i wouldn't worry too much, you will only grow as much as you are supposed to....

Given your height now and your age, you probably won't grow much more, unless you started puberty very late. You may grow another inch or two, from 17-18, but most males finish growing by about 18-19. There are a rare few who get growth spurts at 18-20, but its extremely rare. I was a late bloomer, and most of my height growth was done by 17, and I tacked on another inch from 17-19.
As for heredity and height, strange things can happen with recessive genes from your ancestors. Usually your height will be the product of your parent's height (i.e. if your parents are both short, you will most likely be short as well). But occassionally, you end up with a recessive gene that may be much taller or shorter than your parents. Witness Shaquile O'Neil for example - he is MUCH taller than his parents. Even my 15 year old cousin - he's 6'5" now and still growing, and he towers over his parents, and no one else in my family is anywhere near as tall as he is, so it's like 'where did THAT come from!?!'

So genetics can play weird tricks sometimes.
hmmm how do you know if youve ended puberty? i havent grown armpit hair yet if just peach fuzz, but i have face hair. my left foot is a size 8 1/2-9 and my right is a size 10. i dont know everything is all wacked out haha i guess ill have to just wait and see what happends
Well, there is no on/off switch or particular sign that comes up and says you've reached the end of puberty. Technically you have reached puberty when you first start to ejaculate, which basically means you're sexually mature and capable of fathering a child. But there are many more changes to the secondary sexual characteristics beyond that point, that are part of puberty too. These secondary sexual characteristics can take several years to develop, after you've started to ejaculate. Examples of secondary sexual characteristics include facial hair, armpit hair, leg and body hair, chest hair, deeper voice, and muscle growth. With me, these things pretty much filled in and stopped growing more at around age 19. But it could be earlier or later for you, as we all go through puberty at different rates and in different ways.
Like you said, you just have to wait and see what happens. Many things will seem to be out of place or uneven growth, and will seem wacky. But it will all even out within a few years, trust me. So try to enjoy the ride - you only get to go through this once.
