| Painful Acne/rash type reaction to shaving (razor bumps?)
Every time I shave with a razor that night and the next day I get a painful rash type reaction on my neck. There is Acne too. I tried changing shaving foams/gels, etc. No luck. I bought an electric razor and it works somewhat, but just because it doesn't shave as close. Whenever I go for that close shave (Dates, etc) I get the same problem again, even with the electric. I've tried every form of irritation prevention including Nivia's Razor Defense stuff, with no luck. I'm not sure this is the kind of irritation they're talking about.
I've recently heard a bit about razor bumps, and think this might be it, but everything seems to point to those occuring mostly on black men (I'm white) with curly hair (mine is pretty straight... the hair on my neck grows in different directions than the rest of my face, but if I let it grow out it grows straight) so I'm not sure what is going on. I tried washing my face immediately after shaving, later that night, etc, until I was washing my face 4 times a day! Still no luck. Any ideas?
