Arrow How to clean an uncircumsized penis?

I'm 15 yo and I was NEVER taught a thing about my genitals by my parents. I honestly don't think they know what do with their stuff either. Now I've been having health class and circumsision comes up and all that stuff with the penis. Slowly, I'm learning a little more about it but now I'm getting scared. Until this year, I never knew I had to raise my foreskin before taking a ****. And now I'm hearing you have to clean INSIDE the skin? First of all, that sounds beyond painful. And secondly, what exactly am I to do? Please someone help me.

Re: How to clean an uncircumsized penis?

I'm the mother of a 16 yr old son and can't imagine your parents not wanting to know about your concerns. So first and foremost, you might want to give your parents a chance. Speak to them about your concerns. Maybe they can have a doctor check to see if you need to be circumsized. A doctor will also be able to tell you the best way to start pushing back the foreskin safely and with as little pain as possible.
If you decide to handle this alone, there are great ways to kill bacteria naturally. When you shower or bathe, wash under the foreskin w/soap and water. Keep a container in the bathroom for rinsing under the foreskin after using the toilet. Add to warm water a few drops of Tea Tree or Lavender oil (use about 3-4 drops to every 4 ozs of water). Make sure they are PURE ESSENTIAL oils. Both are anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-biotic. Just using water is a good thing to do all the time, but since there might be a bacteria or fungus lurking, try the essential oil method for a while. Lavender smells best, to me, but Tea Tree might work faster.
Hope this helps.

I'm a woman but I've seen my b/f do it often enough to know it doesn't hurt. All he does when he is in the shower is pull his foreskin back gently and wash with soap and water then do the same with the foreskin back in place. Easy as that. He doesn't wash after each urination but he does wipe with toilet paper sometimes.

Re: How to clean an uncircumsized penis?

Hey bud, I'm so sorry your folks haven't given you information about this, I'm uncut too and neither did mine. First of all, don't be scared or worry about this at all. You've got just a bit of work to do and need to make sure that you keep things clean under your foreskin on a daily basis. If your foreskin doesn't retract (meaning it moves easily over the head and down the shaft of your penis) then we can help with that as well. First and foremost is to gently work your finger under the foreskin and clean it well. I'd start with just warm water as your penis may be a bit sensitive to soaps or other things. You will notice that your head is very sensitive, don't worry about that, in time after more direct stimulation it'll be less sensitive. If you notice a buildup of a whitish or cream colored substance under there it is smegma, a naturally occuring lubricant that will occaisonally build up. You can use a bit of oil based lotion to help clean this out if water does'nt do it. Daily cleaning will prevent this from happening again. I'd suggest that you start all of this while soaking in a hot bath tub of water, that'll help make things more pliable and easier to work with. Lets start here and if you need help with something else please drop us a note back!

Re: How to clean an uncircumsized penis?

My skin pulls back just fine, or at least I think it does. I can pull it back for like half the head to show up. And yes, I've noticed it to be VERY sensitive and it's like a sharp pain but at the same time it's not exactly pain. I'm sure you know what I mean. So basically, I clean the head or just the foreskin? I know this must sound drastic, but I've gotten real scared and after making my primary post, I sorta put some suds on the top of my foreskin, then pull back and let it seep inside the foreskin a bit. IDK, I get very skeptic when it comes to touch the head of my penis, it's just a psychological thing I have to get over I guess.

But now I have some more questions; why is that when I ejaculate and I wipe off the semen, I have my skin pulled down far and when the head touches the tissue or whatever, there is no sensitive stinging or what not. But when it's not an ejaculation, and I'm wiping it off (now I've begun to with toilet paper after *******), I feel that tingling? Another thing, for those that don't wash up their penis, what can happen to them? As in, what are the results of not cleaning up your penis properly?

Re: How to clean an uncircumsized penis?

You don't have to wipe with toilet paper, unless you want to. You need to be able to pull the foreskin back all the way to wash the groove behind the head. Smegma, made from dead skin and lubricating oils, can collect over time if not washed away. If you don't, perhaps nothing will happen. Perhaps the head will get red and irritated. If you are not able to wash properly, chances increase that you will gross out a sexual partner with a bad aroma, and nobody really wants to do that.
Be careful about soap. Some guys can tolerate it, some can't. Water alone is fine for keeping it clean. If you do use soap, make sure you rinse it all off.

Re: How to clean an uncircumsized penis?

Hey bud, sounds like you need to work with your foreskin a little bit so that you can fully retract it over the head. You want to be able to roll your foreskin over the head of your penis and onto the shaft so that you can completely clean the head and the underside of your foreskin. Yes, the head of your penis is going to be quite sensitive, you'll have to accept that and work with it a bit. Everytime you masturbate be sure that you stimulate the head of your penis and in time it will be less sensitive and much more pleasureable for you. If you use some lubrication, hand lotions will work well, this will help. As to the stretching, I'd suggest that you take warm/hot soaking baths or showers and focus on the foreskin. You'll want to gently stretch the opening of your foreskin so that it wiil move freely over the head of your penis when flaccid or erect. Do this by using a finger to make circles inside your foreskin, each getting larger. Be patient and consistent in doing this, in time (usually a few weeks) you'll begin to see some change. By consistent I mean daily! After you've got the foreskin opening a bit larger then we can focus on the length if we need to. Ultimately you'll want to be able to retract the foreskin over the head of your penis and completely down the shaft when erect and that should be no problem at all with some patience and stretching. Good luck bud and keep checking in with us to let us know about your progress.

Re: How to clean an uncircumsized penis?

Hey, I'm 15, uncircumcised, and my parents never told me anything about cleaning or retracting at all. Infact until just this month in health class i learned it was supposed to actually retract the foreskin, i figure since i have never retracted it before i may just be screwed. When i try to retract it theres kind of a stinging sensation but i know during masturbation i've pulled it down pretty farther. So now knowing i feel an urgency to try and retract the skin and start cleaning. So how do i clean if when i try and retract it it kind of stings. I guess i'll be going to the doctor then.

Re: How to clean an uncircumsized penis?

GeoffB, I feel you.

And Lance thanks for the support but I'm totally lost on the whole circles thing. But I guess I'll take it step by step. First I should try and pull my skin back little by little? And do you think I should see a doctor. BTW my penis does give off a nasty smell so I'm assuming I have a lot of that nasty stuff back there... joy.

Re: How to clean an uncircumsized penis?

Oh snap, I pulled my skin down a bit today and you can definitely tell the difference even when it's not erect. It's normal that you can see head real easily when looking at it? I haven't been able to pull it down ALL the way underneath that thing, but I'm getting there.

But now I must ask again, why does my head seem kinda wrinkled after pulling my skin back a bit. Is this ok? I'm slightly overweight so I'm wondering if this could be a reason to it as well. It's not painful or anything but I'm real curious about this stuff. I REALLY want to know more about my genitals because I want to keep myself away from as much danger as possible.

Re: How to clean an uncircumsized penis?

Hey GeoffB2007....no need to see a doc just yet, that stinging is normal, remember that the head of your penis stays covered most of the time so you'll experience some pain there as you touch it, this will lessen in time. Main thing is that you can retract your foreskin over the head of your penis and down the shaft, this will allow you to clean both the head and foreskin, do this on a daily basis to make sure all of the smegma is gone. While working with your foreskin and moving it up and down the shaft you'll stretch it a bit as well, that'll make it easy for the foreskin to move freely when flaccid or erect. If you need more help just let us know!

Re: How to clean an uncircumsized penis?

Hey Chubs, I'll try to cover all of your questions in one post. The "circles" thing is a way to enlarge the opening of your foreskin. What you want to do is take warm/hot soaking baths or showers, this will help the skin become more pliable and easier to stretch. while in the water you'll want to pull your foreskin away from your body, out over the end of your penis. Once there, take your fingers and gently make circular motions around the inside of your foreskin, as you work with it increase the size of the circles so that you are stretching the opening of the foreskin. After several days (maybe a few weeks) of this you'll notice that your foreskin will move easier over the head of your penis and onto the shaft. That smell is probably from a buildup of smegma, no problem here either. Every day you need to wash under your foreskin and the head of your penis to remove it. If there is a buildup of smegma under there (a substance that is creamy colored in consistency) use a bit of oil based lotion to help loosen it a bit, then just wash with warm water. Be careful with soaps, your penis head is going to be sensitive to things for a while, even touch. In time this will lessen as well. That wrinkling you describe is probably normal as well, just remember that the lil guy has been covered and some of this will change as time goes on. Let us know if you need anything else, be patient and consistent in working with things and you'll be just fine!

Re: How to clean an uncircumsized penis?

Lance I don't understand what you mean by the circles either. The methods I've heard of are either pulling back when erect as far as possible and holding or stretching the opening with fingers. In the latter case you can either insert the ends of two fingers and pull them apart to stretch or you can grab each side of the opening with right and left fingers and thumbs and pull each side of the opening to stretch it. That's with the skin forward of course.
Pulling back when erect risks getting stuck. If that should happen squeeze the head firmly (to force out the blood that cause te erection) and ease the skin forward. If you try and try and can't get the skin forward see a doctor or ER soon. This is not common but I like to warn people.
