Most of us shave our faces daily. Some more often, some less often. It all depends on how thick/dark your beard is and how well groomed you want to look. As a young guy in my 20's, I thought that I had to shave at least daily if not twice. I had a darker beard and I just did not like the 5'oclock shadow look. I thought the world would end if I was seen unshaven.
As I got older, the beard turned a little gray and was not as noticeable. I have mellowed in my old age of 40+. I can now go to the store on Saturday with stubble. Something I would never have done in my younger days.
Just shave when you think you have to to make yourself look good. A friend refuses to shave every day. Only ever two days. I could not go to work like that but that is him and I am me.
My facial hair isn't that dense or fast-growing, but it's dark, hence my name. I only need to shave every other day to keep that clean look.
In reality though, I usually shave my beard when it starts to get itchy or look bad, around the four-day mark. Shaving makes my moustache stand out better. I trim it every couple weeks or so, when the hairs start to touch the lip.
