For the past two days, in certain seated positions, I feel a slight vibration (less than a cell phone vibration, but evident) in my groin area, just outside the testis area. It's very disconcerting. If I try to feel the vibration area with my hand, the vibration goes away, only to return shortly after removing my hand. I don't feel this when standing or laying down.
Anyone with any clue about this? Any help appreciated!
It could be that when you are in the seated position, you are somehow compressing a spinal nerve in the lower back.Even if there is something slightly touching on a nerve, it would possibly cause this type of sensation.Have you talked with your doc about this yet?I think that should be your next step.Marcia

it may be a nerve but i would rather suggest a muscle twitching.... i have pretty annoying muscle twitching with bad anxiety sometimes and anywhere along the thigh area i can get twitches that feel like little mini-twitching because it feels exactly like u describe, a vibration... and i can also put my hand on it to try and stop it because it can get quite annoying after awhile, it will stop when i have my hand on it, and when i walk or stand nothing in the thigh area will twitch because you are using those muscles .... give it some time, if it is a muscle thats twitchin on u in the area then it can stay indefinitely.... twitches are usually harmless so dont worry!!
Have had the same thing going on about a month now.
Started out ever once in a while then increased to every day.
Never any pain just constant coming and going vibrating feeling, seems worse at end of day and when I lay down to go to bed. Have been to doctor twice and checked for hernia, bladder infection and also had pelvic cat scan...Nothing showed up except for 1 gallstone and slight diverticulitis(sp).
Seemed to be improving a little now and not going on as often, actually went about two days with no symptoms.
Doctor said could be parathesis.
I also have a strange vibration in my groin area. I am a 55 year old man in good health. I started taking Crestor for high Cholesterol and I take Viagra occasionally for insurance. When I touch it with my hands, my hand feels nothing vibrating. But it feels like it is vibrating in my penis! I thought my cell phone was on vibrate and was touching me there the first time it happened. But is not as strong as a cell phone that vibrates. It vibrates for 15 seconds or so then goes away for 15 seconds. There is no pain. It is just strange. It has been constant for about 1 week.
I won't go to the doctor unless there is some other symptom, but of course from reading on this site, now, I am afraid I may come down with MS! I considered that I was having some kind of mental/sexual problems, Ha! That would be preferable to MS!
If anybody gets a firm diagnosis for this be sure to let me know
I started feeling the same thing less than a week ago, and was using the same analogy of a cell phone vibrating. The only thing I can add is that instead of a vibration, I think it is the movement of fluids, as it reminds me of when I have bad gas pains, where you feel it go back & forth through your intestines, until it finally exits the body. And of course on a much smaller scale than moving gas pains.
