seeking knowledge

Hi,

I'm glad that these white things aren't contagious. While itchy, I'm
happy that my partner won't be contracting anything nasty.

Anyway, I've been reading this board and have come to the conclusion
that I *really* (embarrassing, I know) don't know how my penis functions.
I know about erections and stimulations, but I'm a little puzzled
on the following issues:

1) When a penis becomes erect, is the foreskin supposed to remain
covering the glans? Or is it suppose to retract while the penis grows?

2) I read on this board during a search that a member actually retracted
the foreskin before sleeping. Am I supposed to do that?

3) During sex, is the foreskin supposed to be retracted or not? How about
Oral sex? Masturbation?

4) When urinating, am I supposed to retract the foreskin?

All these years, I've never really thought about these. I simply just
assume that the foreskin's supposed to be covering the penis and
not to be retracted unless cleaning.

I'm sorry if these questions are stupid. I just never really learnt anything
about this subject as I've been brought up in a very conservative
family.

Thanks

A

Re: seeking knowledge

Hi Auric,

I dnt know what white things you are talking about?

But the answer to your remaining questions is it depends on the foreskin that a person has.If the foreskin is long then even after the penis is erect it will covet the glans. But if you are circumcised it will retract and your glans will be exposed. You dnt have to retract your foreskin before sleeping leave it the way it is.But make sure that you wash youe penis daily by retracting the skin so as to avoid the smell and infection.During urination if you are not able to direct your urine in the pot you can retract it and once done it will come back automatically. And during sex yes the foreskin is retracted back to make penetration easy. But if your foreskin is too tight then you can do that without retracting it.

Hope this satisfies your curiosity.

Take care
Raja

Re: seeking knowledge

Auric,

Questions are not stupid.

First of all the foreskin [I am uncircumcised] will normally cover the penis head when soft but most often retracts behind the head when an erection occurs. It depends on the length of the foreskin of course. For myself, the foreskin retracts behind the head when an erection occurs.

When you have sex you don't have to worry about the foreskin's position. When you enter the vagina the entrance of the vagina will push the foreskin back behind the head if it is not already there. Intercourse will occur with the foreskin usually back behind the head although sometimes I can feel the skin move back and forth over the head during sex.

There is no reason to pull the foreskin back when sleeping. And yes, I always pull the foreskin back a little when urinating so that the urine flow can come out easier. If you don't pull it back a little then the urine flow can spray in different directions when coming through the skin.

Hope this answers your questions.

It doesn't have to go back by itself, though some do and it should be possible to pull it back by hand without tightness or pain.

Not recommended, as sometimes the foreskin can swell when this is done and even lead to paraphimosis (see my stretching instructions, a sticky at the top of this board for an explanation of this condition). That said some guys can do this without swelling or any other problems. It's best to try it when awake to see how you go first if anyone is keen on doing this.

Without a condom you get smoother entry if the foreskin is forward and you can take advantage of the gliding action of the foreskin to act like extra lube. The foreskin should then either stay back or move back and forward over the glans during intercourse. It's best to retract before putting on a condom though. A drop of water-based lube inside the condom helps with comfort and sensation. Never use non-waterbased lubes as they will damage the condom.

It's a good idea to retract enough so that the urine does not flow back and wet under the foreskin.

Do you masturbate with the foreskin forward or moving the foreskin back and forward over the glans?

You questions are far from stupid and it's not your fault that you were not taught any of this.

It's tight when I retract. To the point that my glans start turning
blue. (Yes, I know that's not a good sign.)

I understand. The tip of the foreskin does swell up a bit, and that's when
it itches.

I don't know why I never knew or understood this. The thing is, even after
I knew about the retraction, I didn't know the retraction before urination.
Funny thing is some mornings, urination is like ok, but at other times, the
stuff goes all over the place.

I don't think I can ever masturbate with it retracted. Foreskin tip is still
too tight, so I'm gonna have to keep on stretching.

Does masturbation lead to crazyness? (blindness?) My worries is
could masturbation lead to the depletion of semen?

Thanks

A
