| Re: trim or shave?
I think Millpark has the right idea. Unless you are certain you want the smooth look, try trimming first. It will regrow faster and you won't have any residual problems associated with hair growing back from smooth i.e. ingrowns, razor burn, itching. Get a beard trimmer and set it to the length you want and see how that works. If it doesn't work for you and you want to go smooth, than that requires a bit more prep and upkeep, but feels wonderful....regardless of some who believe how men are "supposed to be..." think. When going smooth, it is all about the razor and prep. You still need to trim it down to about 1/4 inch length. Soak in the bath or shower for awhile and use a good shave gel or hair conditioner to lather and a good razor like a Mach 3 to shave with. Just take your time, you don't want nicks or cuts, but the feel you have on your skin afterwards is electrifying.
Good luck
