Is there any way to reduce the amount of sweat you produce? For a few years now (im 18), I have noticed that I sweat a lot more than other people. Particularily my back. I went golfing today, it was a fairly hot day, but not too bad - I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt, and by the end of the game, my back was COVERED in sweat. I mean most of the back of my t-shirt was visibly soaked and it was so embarrasing. I wasnt even walking that much, we had powered golf carts! The rest of my body was also sweating a lot, i know i had a lot of butt sweat (but no one could tell), my chest and stomach were sweating a bit, and my face was sweating pretty good too. I was wearing a hat and sunglasses.
This is f-ed up. I looked at my friends and they barely had a drop of sweat on their faces let alone a soaked back. Whats wrong with me? I have to wear two t-shirts to school every day in may/june and sept because i know that if i only wear one ill have back sweat stains that people could see. No one else sweats like me and i feel so embarrased when i do sweat. I cant imagine what I'll be like if im having sex with a girl (should be happening soon), I'll just be sweating on her like mad.
Is there any way to reduce sweat, mainly on my back - my back sweats even more than my face!!
I almost never wear T-Shirts alone, unless its at night or I don't care if peopl see how badly I sweat. I usually wear an undershirt and a polo or button up style shirt when I go out, even casually. The undershirt absorbs the sweat and it evaporates, without showing through (even on thin dress shirts usually).
I use spray antipersperant, and apply it liberally -- on my chest and even forehead. It helps reduce the sweating some.
I have the similar concern you have Jackswift. Although, i mainly sweat right threw my pits. Its like a waterfall of sweat when I hit the sun, goes all the way down my shirt and around the front a back! So dont feel too bad
its impossible to reduce the amount of sweat you produce unless you get smaller like if your a big guy, it usually is your size the bigger you are the more you sweat(your bodys cooling system), you sweat to cool you off, YOU WANT TO SWEAT,if you dont you can die because if your body gets over i think its 105 degress your dead

Acutally there are several medical conditions that can cause or contribute to exessive sweating such as diabetes, heart disease, hodgkin's disease, tuberculosis, pneumonia, cancer, malaria, liver disease, kidney disease, infection and thryroid problems.
I had adrenal insufficiency combined with hypothyroid for 10 years before taking the proper medication banish excessive sweating.
Do your palms sweat also? I mean do you often feel you have to wipe them on your pants before you shake hands with someone so you avoid that clamy feeling? Are you over weight?
yes my hands sweat sometimes...but usually only when im nervous, like when im talking to a hot chick for the first time or before a job interview and such.
And no im definetly not overweight - 135lb, 5'11" lol. Im a skinny guy. I think i need more insulation or something, i get cold so easily, but i get hot incredibly easily too...which leads to my monstrous sweating.

Thin, cold/hot intolerance, excessive sweating are signs of hyperthyroid. Other sometimes related symptoms are: weight loss, anxiety, insomnia, fatigue, hair loss, palpitations, rapid heartbeat, sweating, diarrhea, weakness, eye/vision changes. You wouldn't have all those symptoms or have them all the time but if they are frequent you should see a doctor to have your thyroid checked out...it's just a blood test and the doctor will feel your neck.
coldufuzion i have a question about about the smell of sweat now that you bring it up. Sometimes when im around a person that is sweating, i smell this really disgusting, almost sweet smell. I never smell this on myself when i'm sweating. Is it just because its me, so im used to it or something?
Does sweat always smell so sick? I heard once that its actually your deoderant that makes that smell....im confused about the whole thing..
