Pubic region rash.

I've had this massive rash on my pubic region for quite some time. At first I didn't think too much about it, but now it's really itching and I don't know what it is (at least I'm not sure).

First let me describe the rash.

It starts on my left thigh and continues in a line up toward the pubic region and then it curves over the pubic area (where my pubic hair is) and continues over to the right thigh, where it ends. The entire region isn't infected with this rash, just -- it seems anyway -- a strip.

I told my mom about this and she said it was probably jock itch and that I should try some athlete's foot cream. SO I've started doing that, but I'm still skeptical.

I have been sexual, but I'm not sure it's crabs.

What else could it be?

My mom's reasoning does sound solid, as it's been worse since summer has started and it REALLY itches badly after I run and sweat terribly down there. I also wear boxer-briefs, which are snug on me. Before I started wearing them, I never had this problem. I have read tight fitting clothes can cause jock itch.

Anyway, just looking for some advice, thanks in advance to anyone who replies!

Hey man, its either jock itch or simply a heat rash. Both itch like heck and sweating irritates it more. I've had great success using a spray called Lotrimin AF, you can find it in the same place where all the athletes foot products are found. It sprays on cold and then powders up, give it a try!

Thanks Lance! I picked some of that spray up today and put it on...within a few hours the rash was gone, however there's still a bit itching (I'm sure it won't all go away over night).

Hey man, keep using it! Also, in this hot summer you might want to try using a bit of powder after every bath or shower. Baby powder is good, and you can also try Gold just helps keep things dry down there and prevents that rash from coming back. I started using it after I had one heck of a case of that stuff and haven't had any since then! Glad it helped.
