Found a lump.....

I have been to the doctors today because of a lump that I found in my scrotum. To go with the lump I also have a dull aching pain in my hip area and a similar pain in the left hand side of my bladder. The lump is not on the testical itself but seems to be attached by some kind of chord/string. The lump is quite flexible and can move around but can only get so far away before the ďchordĒ seems to hold it back. I try and follow the chord with my fingers and it seems to lead to the testical. The lump itself is about the size of a small pea. (About 3mm) Its hard when you squeeze it. Also when I do sweeze it I get a sharp pain.

If first found the lump about 8 months ago. I decided not to go to the doctors because I was scarred basically.

After about 4 months I plucked up the courage to go and I saw a female doctor. She did an examination and thought it could be epidiymis (sp??).

She said to come back if i was still concerned. So today I went back. Everything is still exactly the same. The lump seems to be the same size and the dull aching pain comes and goes, just as it was 4 months ago.

I saw the same doctor who did another examination. (On both examinations im not completely sure she has ďhit the spotĒ if you know what I mean. Eg, she has actually felt the lump between her fingers.

She doesnít seem that concerned but this time she took a urine sample to check for any infections and has booked me in for an ultrasound. There is an 8 week waiting list for the ultrasound at present!!!!

Iíve now got to wait. Iím not really really worried but I cant get it out my mind. What if it turns out to be something serious??

Does anyone else here have an experience of something similar? Iíve been doing some research and the fact the lump isnít directly on the testical gives me some comfort but with some of the symptoms I cant help but think its cancerous.

Thank-you

Re: Found a lump.....

it is far, far more likely to be either epidyimitis, or a cyst, than it is to be testicluar cancer. 8 weeks to wait for an ultrasound sounds outrageous.
