red spot/patch on penis - Men's Health Message Board

I have noticed a wierd patch of skin on the shaft of my penis. It has been around for a few weeks now. It is slighty more red than the normal skin color and would sometimes change color. When my penis is not erect, that patchy area of the skin doesn't fold/wrinkle like the rest of the skin around it and almost has a crusty appearence to it (even though it has the same texture as the rest of the skin). It is not an open sore and there is no fluid of any kind coming out of it. It also doesn't hurt. This morning I noticed that my penis had dry skin and had a slight flakey-white appearence to it. But the interesting thing is that the wierd patch of skin I mentioned didn't have the dry skin appearence as the rest of the penis' skin. But when the skin is stretched because of an erection, the wierd patch of skin isn't as noticeable. I am also circumsized.

What could this be?

I had this for awhile after I started having sex after a long period of abstinence. It's like a thin, flaky scab or patch. I've had it on the shaft of my penis and my scrotum. I don't know what caused it, but it disappeared as quickly as it appeared. It never bled, or had an opening or lesion. It was just flaky and crust-like.
I did try keeping a moistureizer on it, and that did help. Could be an allergic reaction as well. Mine lasted over a month. I doubt it's serious if it's the same thing.

Thanks for your reply. I've had this thing for longer than a month. I am putting hydrocortizone on it to see if it helps.

I'm not sure. I looked at some psoriasis pictures and it doesn't quiet look like that. Those pictures made the area look very dry and scabby -- something I am not experiencing.
