My testicles feel like they are hanging quite low and i always remember my left testicle to be hanging lower than the right. I do feel a bit of discomfort and I have eben feeling like this for a very long time.... I am 20 years old, and I am worried of having anything...
I tried feeling for bumps on my testicle but i haven't felt anything different (i think), what should I do? is this normal? I can masturbate normally so does this indicate no problem?
Please could someone help, I wiould really appreciate it!
I have semiliar problem one of my testicles(right one ) is usually lower than the other, sometimes they're even.... and sometimes on my right testicle there is sticky stuff, probably sperm going outside through the skin... I think i should tell my doctor. But i have much more serious health problem to care about for now.
One of my friends had this problem, and he had a surgery...
I am a 20 year old male, and I have been experiencing a little pain (discomfort?) in my left testicle. This has been going on for some time and I would like to know whether this is a symptom of anything serious? The same testicle hangs lower than the other one. Should I go for a checkup at the GP and does anyone know if this is normal?
Please, I am worried and I really want to know if it's cancer or not? I dont think i have any lumps of my testicles. If it is something then is there a cure that doesn't invovle surgically removing the testicle? I just want to know what your opinion is please!?
I don't think that is what I was asking because I don't have any " sticky stuff, probably sperm going outside through the skin" of that but i do hope the best for your cause. Also, you never mentioned anything in particualr about the surgery of your friend if at all it is related...
My situation is that my left testicle is lower than the right, and it feels a bit uncomfortable. When I look at the scrotum covering the left testicle, it looks a bit red-like and there is no other unusual things about it. I just am not sure if there is a problem or not and whether anyone experienced the similar thing and went for the radiology (i think that's the name) and have a result from it.
I am really concerned and I do hope I hear from anyone about their knowledge and experience.
Just to clear things up, I have been feeling this for a some time now (can't even remember from when) and I have not had any unusual sexual activity ever!
What do you think is the reason for such a thing for me to have? And if a surgery is required, and it is something, is surgery the only possibility? What type of surgery? Does it involve me losing the testicle????
What do you suggest?????Please help here! I am really concerned!
Hi,
I think everyone has a testicle higher than the other! If you have examined yourself and theres no lumps, you may find you have strained yourself. Have you been lifting or playing sports or something? I used to be in heavy engineering, and once or twice I strained myself trying to lift parts of locomotives. I got up one morning, with a stabbing pain in my left testicle. It scared me to death. I took some pain killers thinking it would go. It didn't, and as the day went on it got worse, the pain was more frequent and lasted longer. I had no choice, I was scared but I knew I had to go to the doctors or the hospital. I was actually bent over like an old man walking in the doctors. He examined me, and said I had pulled the tube right where it joined the testes. That had got infected. He gave me 8 very powerfull antibiotics, and said the pain will go after takinfg just 3, but continue the course. He was right, it did go after 3. I was ok after that for years....until I did it again lol
Hi, it's good that you're not feeling any lumps. I guess the only way for complete peace of mind is to request an ultrasound. I had one done and it was pain free. Very easy. They check both testicles.
I've been having a slight discomfort in my left testes for a long time now and I would like to know if there is any reason for concern..ie. is it common?
the signs I have are that the left teste hangs lower than the right, the skin seems a bit swollen? light red (maybe since it's hanging lower..?)....
I tried feeling for anything but think there is no sign of something unusual... I'm no expert anyways, so that's why I'm posting it here.
I read the thread like 2 below on 'swollen testicles', and the one guy replied saying tis just some fluid in the nuts... are the signs i'm telling you anything in common to what you've heard/experienced before? fluid in the nuts ??? does it (my signs / fluid) imply anything serious? i'm really worried...
Go to your family doctor and get it checked out, the redness seems a little out of the ordinary. On the other hand one testicle always hangs lower than the other, that is normal, there is only so much room in the scrotum.
Personal story: I have perodic pain in my right testicle, rather uncomfortable. It turned out to be siactica!!! When my siatica acts up the pain shoots through (or so it seems) through my lower back, right testi and right leg. It has nothing to do with my testicles, it is just the weird way my pinched nerve sends pain sensations to my brain.
Get it checked out by your doctor for your own piece of mind.
My left testicle does hang lower than my right and that I do feel some discomfort. I was thinking that this is a result of it hanging a bit lower and hence with friction when walking + jeans, etc then it is reasonable. I notice that sometimes i have a kind of discomfort down my left thigh/ knee and was hoping if anyone here would know if this is related? I've felt my testes and don't think there is anything but if anyone knows what this is then please tell me.
I am really worried and hope that there is no sign of a cancer but if anyone has an idea then i will really appreciate it!!!!

Every man's left testicle hangs lower than the right. As we say in the software business, "that is by design."
Several things may cause your symptoms. Speaking from personal experience (that is about all we can do here), a varicocele can cause a warm feeling, needing to adjust yourself constantly, and may radiate down your thigh with a kind of "ache" feeling, is aggravated by both heat (in the summer you can't get out of your shorts fast enough and you prefer to wear boxers that ironically, is not recommended if you have a varicocele), and the "ache" is further aggravated by sexual activity. That last part is a real "gotcha" because as you refrain from sex in order to minimize your discomfort you start to have blue balls from not ejaculating.
Someone else, who may have had a hydrocele may speak to how that feels. But these are 2 common problems guys can have that are not at all related to cancer and don't cause immediate pain like a testicular torsion can.
Is there pain? Where? Is there numbing? Where? Does your testicle just constantly feel like you need to adjust it in order to make it feel more comfortable? Does it feel like it is kinda "full?" Does it feel warmer to the touch than the other one? Or is it an "ache" like I described above? These are all questions you need to ask yourself so you can relay them to your doctor.
Your doctor, who has probably felt hundreds if not thousands of testicles, will examine yours, probably take a urine sample (SOP for almost all visits but especially if our report a burning sensation during urination), will ask you the same questions, and may even perform a digital rectal exam to see if there is an issue with your prostate (yes, even at your age!).
Finally, if he is a good doctor who is more concerned with your health than his pocket book, he will order a testicular ultrasound. The worst you will feel there is a little embarrassment due to a woman rubbing cold gel on your testicles and rubbing the ultrasound instrument all over and around them. It not only can visually see inside but can also record the sound of blood rushing through your veins there. In my case, I could hear my heartbeat real good on the left side because a varicocele is a kind of sack of varicose veins dropping down into your scrotum from your abdomen. As veins, they are full of pumping blood and that is what I heard.
If left untreated for an extended period of time, (I am again speaking only from personal experience but there are some documented studies), a varicocele, due to the increase in blood flow and therefore producing a higher temperature where it is not suppose to be, may decrease not only your sperm count but also your testosterone level.
Bottom line is why continue to put yourself through this for a long time when a simple physical exam will allow your doctor to properly diagnose and treat you as well as alleviate this fear you have? Seriously, get this looked at. Report back to us the diagnosis.
P.S. There are various procedures for removing varicoceles. All of them a lot less invasive than the 1 I went through 12 years ago.
