High "Free Androgen Index"

Hi,

I went to the doctor and complained about chronic fatique, and got a bunch of blood tests done.

I recently got the results back, and saw that my Free Androgen Index is very high. So I was wondering if someone could please tell me what this means.

Thanks!

Re: High "Free Androgen Index"

could it be free testosterone? Free androgen is not familiar to me. Free testosterone is testosterone that is not bound to a protein. Most testosterone will bind to proteins , the primary one being SHBG (sex hormone binding globulin). The free testosterone that is not bound is the testosterone that is free to be active and effect libido and erections, etc... When you say it is high (if we are talking about free T) what is the level?
