hi, im 17 years old. i have noticed that i have a lump on the bottom back of my left testicle. i can only feel the lump when i have an erection, and when i have an erection the lump feels hard, and ever since the lump showed up i have been having weak ejaculations, i feel like it might be physically blocking the semen . when i am not erect the lump disappears, i cant feel it at all.
does anyone have any idea what this might be? i was told that these are not typically signs of cancer.
no not by a doctor, but from other people on the internet, dose anyone know what it could be?? it kind of feels like a hard vein when im erect, when im not erect the lump is gone completly
hi xdblahh. Vericose veins or varicoceles as they are known when pertaning to the testicals are a rather common thing among men (10-15% of all males have or have had them). What it is, is blood collection of the vericose vein in your testicle. Generally, it can be felt when standing up, but will dissapear (resume normal blood flow) when laying down.
I have a varicocele myself, and it probably developed when I was your age (I am 20 now). The main symptom is a swollen vein, some men get rather large varicoceles and some get smaller ones. Varicoceles appear roughly 90% of the time on/above the left testicle, and are actually an area of research still in the medical community, they do not know why they form. However, they do know how to treat them.
Most men with varicoceles will not need treatment, you only need treatment if it is causing you pain/discomfort, you think your testicle is shrinking, or it is lowering your sperm count. Common treatements involve many types of surgery, I myself have not had this surgery, but I am told it is not nearly as bad as one would think.
Above all, PLEASE see a doctor as soon as you can. I am not a doctor, I can only give you information on subjects. Testicular problems are nothing to hope go away. Many men feel embarassed, understandibly so, but trust me that after you are done in the office you will be wondering what you were so worried about in the first place!
