Hair loss is one of those things that increased T can cause (guys going bald is caused by T. the hair folicles on the top of hte head dont like T like the hair folices on the sides/back of the head)

The discoloration means your body doesn't like the gel. If you get htat you probably will need to switch to another brand (testim is what I take and I dont have any side effects from it)

unfortunatly, all TRT's will result in your boys shrinking. TAlk to the endo about taking HCG it will help in keeping them from shrinking as much. HCG is an injection. But HCG might not be enough if your boys are causing the problem so may still have to take some other form of TRT (gel).

You should probably go ahead and start. a few days/weeks on it will not seriously impact the size of your boys. Though you may go into a mini puberty. I did. (body hair increased, had some acne, have to shave more often now, etc..) You will feel better in a few days.

Re: androgel

I disagree with Bengie, wait until you see the Endo.... Most likely your GP missed a butt load of blood work that the Endo will want... IMO, you want to be free of TRT before getting the blood work done or he, Endo, will make you wait until the Androgel is out of your system and prolong a resolution of your problems......

Also, in regards to hair loss with Androgel or any other TRT, I believe that if you are genetically disposed to hair loss it will make it worse for you if not ???? Also hair loss is not from T, but the conversion of T to DHT, which I believe AG has a higher than normal rate of. This is a fine line becuase higher DHT helps with libido and that is usually what drives men to TRT in the first place. if and when you do start on AG when you do your follow up blood work ask him to check that, on 5g per day it most likely will not cause a raise, but if it does there are herbs like Saw Palmetto that can help.... just don't take too much becuase you risk regaining the ED....
good luck

Re: androgel

Jinxy right on the hair loss too. It's only if you are genetically predisposed to male pattern balding and it is from conversion of T to DHT which gels are known for. You can minimze the DHT conversion by rubbing the gel into as small an area as possible on the skin. There is an enzyme in the skin that causes the converson.

ok so what you are saying is if you already have male pattern baldness it would cause it to be worse? As for a guy with a full head of hair, probably would be alright without much hair loss? Man i gotta tell ya i feel crappy these days but these side affects..I am not so sure and scred as hell. I am not planning on having anymore kids...I had a visect. about 11 years ago but I am kinda fond of the boys if you no what I mean. Anyone know of a good endo in the Boston area?

thanks

I have been going bald since I was 20 and my hair loss has not increased due to taking a T gel. Its actually stablized.

yes we are fond of our boys but I would rather have small boys then fell like crap and have ED/libido problems. your milage may varie of course.

Re: androgel

thats right. If you have male pattern balding androgel may make it worse because it will increase DHT. You can minimize this by rubbing it into as small an area as possible and do not rub it on the gentals. If you go to shots instead of gel the DHT becomes even less of an issue.

I feel the best on the days I take HCG. Everyone is different.

Re: androgel

It is not unusual for the penis to shrink when testosterone is too low. It is not really shrinking but appears small. Once testosterone levels get back to normal so will the appearance of your penis.

Re: androgel

Just out of curiousity how would low t cause the penis to look smaller. I imagine its still getting the same amount of blood flow.
