chronic foreskin swelling
Two years or so ago while simply rubbing genitalia against a female friend with no penetration, a small scratch developed on the underside of my foreskin (uncircumcised). Over the next day or so it developed into a small cluster of oozing pustules. The physician I saw gave me nystatin cream presuming it was candida. Using the cream the pustules calmed down but
I had to keep using it to prevent flareups. That doctor told me I would likely require circumcision at some point.
I then went to a urologist who said no circumcision needed just keep the foreskin really dry and leave the foreskin retracted now and then. I tried this but the itching and burning that accompanied the inflammation got worse. So I tried using desonide cream to calm the inflammation. This really helped but
required daily application to keep things calmed down. Months later I went to
another urologist (only two in this area). He told me I was over medicating and to just quit all medications and if it got really bad to come see him again.
I tried this and it got worse but a weekend prevented me from seeing him during the flareup. By Monday it had actually calmed down. But over time it flared up again. So back to the desonide.
By now it has become an elongated lump that gets very red and shiny when it flares up and I am still using desonide regularly. I tried lamisil and other
anti-fungal creams with no great improvement. I am really getting desperate and think I may actually require circumcision to get free of this chronic lump.
It is actually an elongated lump now. I will be enormously grateful to anyone having experience or knowledge about this problem as I have nowhere else to go that I know of.
