male circumcision....Is there a second opinion?

So today, I went to a urologist, because my wife's gynocologist reccomended that I also check with a specialist. We are both trying to have a baby, so might as well make sure that we are both good to go.

Anyways, I'm 26, and I am not circumicised, so I wanted to ask my doctor about that too while I was there.

He asked me the general questions about my health history, and then he asked me about pulling my foreskin back. At that point, I'm like "what are you talking about."

long story short, I never knew that I am supposed to be able to pull my foreskin back. the Dr. Immediately reccomended circumcision.

Question: Is circumcision my only option? Is he correct about this or should I get a second opinion?

we also did a urin sample and he found some microscopic blood. I was so surprised that I forgot to ask about this. any idea what that means?

I'm surprised you didn't know about pulling your foreskin back, usually that's what men do when they wash their uncircumsized penis. Haven't you ever got an infection from not washing it properly? I don't know what to tell you.... I knew one man that had himself circumsized for appearance reasons.

Hi cookoo. Yes you should in fact be able to pull back your foreskin with no difficulty and like the previous poster said, to clean under there. If you are unable to do so, then you have a problem. Did Dr examined your penis?

Re: male circumcision....Is there a second opinion?

he looked at it, tried to pull it back and when he found out that it wont go back, he said 'you need a circumcision...'

my question is, should I get a second opinion on this? can I live normally without getting circumcision and seeing my head? I dont care about the looks, or feelings(during sex). just want to make sure healthwise, what my options are.

Re: male circumcision....Is there a second opinion?

There are post/instructions at the top of this web pages with instructions on pulling back your foreskin. You do not have to get circumcised! Your foreskin, only need to be stretched. This will take a why, but it can be done. Yes, I would get a second opinion if I were you. As for having babies, your uncircumsized penis will not keep this from happening. Their are many men that have tight foreskins. Some have children, and some don't. Follow the stretching instructions on this website to solve your problem. As for the blood in urine? That's a different story/issue. See what the doctor is saying about it.

Re: male circumcision....Is there a second opinion?

I agree with cleansweep, get a second opinion. The foreskin is actually very flexible and stretching it relatively easy to do. I had a yeast infection and part of that was phimosis where my foreskin got very tight. My doctor, aside from telling me what medicine to take to get rid of the infection told me I could stretch my foreskin back to the way it used to be - that is very loose. His instructions we like the ones at the top of this page. It did take a little while to do this but both my wife and I are happy things are back to normal. I hope this info helps - there are things you can do with our surgery.

You might have an adhesion. [removed]
In either case, circumcision is overkill for the problem.

Re: male circumcision....Is there a second opinion?

Do the stretching exercises in the sticky.

Men have been making babies for thousands of years without being cut.
It is a extra way of the doc making money.

When it is done to females it is called a cruel operation.
