I am totally freaked out. Few days ago I suddenly got a stinging in the urethra. It became more frequent so I went to an urologist and took a swab. In the meantime the stinging became less frequent. Now I called and they said they found bacteria and I needed to take antibiotics but those antibiotics are so AWFUL I can impossibly take them. I have never read such a side effects list. They have cause various life threatening complications. There is no way I can take this. I would have to check in to the hospital and be under constant attention to be able to take this. The stuff is called Cotrim.
I hope that there are other less dangerous antibiotics which I can take instead.

I don't even know what bacteria I have and how I got them. I am not sexually active. How dangerous is an infection of the urethra? Do you always have to take such terrible antibiotics against them?
