Re: Prostate Stones...or what? I'm kinda freaked.
Prostate stones do occur, but I'm not sure at what age they might normally begin. I have had them for 5 years or so [show up on ultrasound images at the urologist office] and they don't cause problems as far as I know. The chronic inflammation I have is due to other things and I believe the stones are secondary results. But I'm 60 so these things aren't surprising. The stone, if it is hard and mineral like, sounds like a kidney stone. Does it have sharp blades or rounded mounds on it when you view it with a strong magnifying lens? I've had 18 kidney stones so I am all too familiar with them. I've not seen a prostate stone but would expect them to have similar color if not surface features. If they're coming out in ejaculate they probable are prostate linked, rather than kidney-related. If you're bleeding in the semen and passing the stones see a doctor for a professional diagnosis. If they LOOK like stones but are not solid and smash flat when squeezed between thumbnails, they may be small blood clots, but that still is something for a doctor to determine. He's seen it all and heard it all before so you're not going to tell hime something alarmingly new. Don't be embarrassed. Hope this helps.
