what happens if i stop taking testosterone

what happens if i stop taking testosterone after being on testosterone therapy for a year and a half? will it return to level it was before treatment ?

I asked my endocrinologist the same question and he said that everything would go back to the same status as though you had never started TRT. The only difference might be that I am on capsules.

You have long ago shut down your hormone system or what was left of it and its unlikely it would return to your previous level. Most likely you would see a dramatic drop in your testosterone levels, and they might rebound 50% of your previous levels. Testosterone replacement is for life.

As far as I know, only Andriol is capable of maintaining your previous levels. All other forms of testosterone will eventually shut down your normal LH/FSH endrocrine system and after some period of time it won't return. If your testicles have shrunk it would be even more unlikely.

I think your endo was being optomistic. However, what ever process caused your low testosterone would have continued and your production would almost certainly be very much reduced.
