As far as I know, only Andriol is capable of maintaining your previous levels. All other forms of testosterone will eventually shut down your normal LH/FSH endrocrine system and after some period of time it won't return. If your testicles have shrunk it would be even more unlikely.
I think your endo was being optomistic. However, what ever process caused your low testosterone would have continued and your production would almost certainly be very much reduced.
