Chronic problem

I'm still taking difflucan and it seems to be having an effect, but it looks more negative than positive, which has got me stumped since I've had almost no changes at all in relation to my scrotum within the past year. While on Difflucan I've had massive skin shedding and redness spread down my thigh. I don't know why it would be having a negative effect. Any thoughts on this?

Re: Chronic Red Burning Scrotum Thread 8

I have a preliminary report back on the biopsy. Although this wasnt taken from my scrotum (my derm said you'd have to be crazy to take a biopsy of the scrotum , it was taken from a similar itch and eruption over my ribs.

This has shown a lot of inflammatory cells, suggesting this is an infection rather than a stress related illness. I'm awaiting cultures now. My derm was convinced it wasnt a fungal eruption, so i'm not waiting for fungal cultures but we'll see.

skin shedding and redness suggest staphylococcal scalded skin syndrome. i suggest you see your doctor for flucloxacillin if it is that.

Re: Chronic Red Burning Scrotum Thread 8

I have no answers, but in my case everything points to some sort of drying out syndrome that was triggered by some unknown viral or bacterial infection that may or may not still be present. The trends for my disease: recurring fatigue and malaise, cold and exercise intolerance, needing to sleep consistently more than 8-9 hours a night, dry and red chapped lips, dry mouth that is hypersensitive and develops irritations and raw spots, dry eyes, small skin bumps in places that are a bit smaller than goose bumps, and of course the red, itching, burning, hypersensitive skin of the scrotum and foreskin. I am convinced this is an unnamed syndrome triggered by infection or simply an unidentified chronic infection. I am slowly doing better, but I have no idea if I will ever be normal again. The only place my skin is not dry is on my face, which still gets ungodly oily, but I have a predisposition to this and I suffer from adult acne so nothing new there. Whatever it is, it seems there are lots of stories with similar sets of symptoms here and on other sites. Unfortunately the disease is very easy to contract (via bodily fluid exposure including saliva as in the case of oral sex) and I can only theorize it remains unknown for one or more of the following reasons: 1) May require a genetic predisposition. 2) It is always written off as anxiety by the establishment 3) The symptoms are non life-threatening and resemble other conditions, so no one has ever attempted to gather enough individuals together to search for an infectious agent. The closest thing I can find the really comes close is a med. study reporting Sjogren's Syndrome like symptoms associated with chronic fatigue sufferers.

Anyway, right now the only thing I'm doing is taking probiotics (Threelac) and supplementing my skin oil production with natural oils like emu oil, etc. after showering.

Re: Chronic Red Burning Scrotum Thread 8

One more thing that might help. I have changed my research from infections to contact irritants mostly because there is no way any surface infections would have survived what I've done, and the lab tests confirm: No bacteria and no yeast/fungus. So while it's conceivable there could be some weird lingering infection, it's a moot issue because I simply can't do anything more about it short of jumping into a volcano.

I noticed that my skin in general is irritated, red, dry, and itchy sometimes after a shower, and noticed the similarity to this feeling/appearance and my chronically upset scrotum symptoms. It turns out that that Sodium Laurel Sulfate, Sodicum Myreth Sulfate, and other surfactants are major skin irritants that are probably the most common ingredient in everything from shampoo to body wash to toothpaste. I would definitely recommend that anyone with an irritated scrotum stay away from these products. Do a search on the topic if you don't believe me. The reason companies use this stuff is that it's a cheap foaming agent, and consumers want cleaning products that foam. You might have to go to a natural food store to find alternative products. I am using Aubrey Organics Herbal Liquid and it definitely calms down the skin and reduces symptoms.

Re: Chronic Red Burning Scrotum Thread 8

It's eczema. It affects everyone differently and to a different degree. Certain products will cause it to get worse. The only thing any of us can do is keep affected area moist. Whatever moisturizer you use has to be fragrance free. Eczema is a skin disease that causes problems anywhere from minor itching to blistered inflamed skin that itches incessantly.
I realize that some of you still associate this problem with an STD but if you read about eczema it fits all of our problems.

Re: Chronic Red Burning Scrotum Thread 8

Yes, it does appear to be very much like a form of eczema, though for me at least it is part of a broader set of symptoms that all began after I got sick right after contact with a girl. So, you can imagine why this would seem like a local skin infection. Now I believe that it is part of some form of syndrome that was begun by some systemic infection. Whatever happened sort of reprogrammed my body to sort of dry up and suffer from all of the consequences. I know this started because of that one event, and I really wish it hadn't. I had none of these health problems before this. It is a known phenomenon for certain infections to trigger syndromes, even when there is no concrete causal agent identified. Chronic Fatigue Synrome for example si thought to be caused by one or more infections. Reiter's Syndrome and others are also triggered by infections. I think that's what a lot of the 'STD' crowd that are NOT suffering from yeast/bacteria are dealing with. A syndrome resulting from some pathogen. I don't know, maybe it jacked up part of the autonomic nervous system that control oil glands and salivation, etc. All I know is my body is no longer the same.

Re: Chronic Red Burning Scrotum Thread 8

I agree. My problem started after a long period of anxiety. I never had any problems prior to this either. It has changed my life immeasurably. I gained 50 lbs since this problem started. I keep trying one treatment after another. I have learned that many products make it worse. But others help allot. I have talked with allot of people from all parts of the world that have the exact same symptoms.
The things that work for me is Goats milk soap, olive oil, cerave, jojoba oil and other natural moisturizers. The thing that doesn't make sense is my skin isn't dry or scaly. There is no rash, just a stinging uncomfortable feeling. The feeling is primarily on the underside of my scrotum. But also on the inner and front of my thighs.

Re: Chronic Red Burning Scrotum Thread 8

Hi guys, just a quick update as I have continued to suffer with this lovely condition, although heavy sweating was my main problem as it woke me through the night.

I have gone down the yeast/candida route, although I must say the more I read about it, the more this sounds like urban myth, and web scammers delight. Anyway on that basis I have been on a low sugar diet for about 6 months now, (I have found this very hard) but as a side effect I find my energy levels are much more stable. In addition to this I have tried every supplement going to no effect whatsoever. Just recently however I started (every day) taking the juice of a whole lime, diluted in 0.5l of water through the day and I have noticed a real improvement. Not sure if there is anything in this, but fingers x'd. If you do this, I'd recommend using a straw, as lime is extremly acidic and I could really feel it on my teeth!

As a side, I have noticed it flares with booze, so have cut that out too.

Good luck, I don't intend on logging back in too much, as the cycle of surfing for cures makes it worse I am sure.

J

Re: Chronic Red Burning Scrotum Thread 8

i'm still here. Just not any better and no new news really. I might try the bleach bath, but I'll let everyone know how that goes if I do. Things are pretty much the same for me (slowly getting worse as always). My mouth irritation almost worries me more than my scrotum irritation now.

Re: Chronic Red Burning Scrotum Thread 8

Has anyone tried going to a PAIN MANAGMENT CENTRE OR PAIN CLINIC?? I guess its an option, there are lots of chronic diseases like diabetes that are treated in there. Ours could be probably treated there? Anyone wants to try? I guess its not a bad idea.

Another option I heard to treat chronic pain is through HYPNOSIS DOCTORS. I heard they are also a great way to treat chronic pain, diabetes, etc....

What do you think about this 2 options?? I have being considering this, but I am in the middle of a treatment at the moment, so I will wait a bit, but if anyone trys, please let us know...

Cheers.

Re: Chronic Red Burning Scrotum Thread 8

Hi guys.

Here is my feedback. Saw another so called specialist Derm and got a cream mixture this time, of Locoid and SPR Lipocream to use. It has helped relieve the itch while on my candida diet and homeopath meds.

So I did also see a Homeopath again, as I dont believe Modern meds can cure this. (if anyone thinks Candida is urban legend, then you are on the wrong planet!). Anti-biotic overuse has also contributed to this condition going ballistic, and messing up your entire system. When you try fix it yourself or use modern drugs, all we do is stuff up our systems even more

The diagnosis IS Candida albicans, as well as Ebstein Bar Virus, (GBOF there is some correlation here, when you mentioned in a previous post about EBV titers), and he found intestinal worms, hence the constant itchy ***. (gross is all i can say). Took Vermox for that.

Once you cure the Candida, he says all the other problems will go away. Its worth a shot, as I have had this a year now. So I got the meds he gave me (drops and granules for all the above), plus Aloe liquid to take daily (Bulbalo)and he put me on the most strictest diet i have ever attempted. This is to starve the Candida. Sheer torture. No red meat, no spices, only chicken and fish, no milk products only soya, no carbs or alcohol or sugar or honey. No fruit, only pawpaw and avo, but allowed all of vegetables except potato. I have been strict on this diet to the letter, and guys guess what, after 1 month on this diet and meds, the itch is going if not almost gone. I can now live a normal life. It only itches towards the end of the day if i sit too long.
I use neutral soaps, and keep a strict hyiegene protocol. Wash hands etc etc

I also feel a whole lot better, and my energy levels are up. No more chronic fatigue. No sinus or all the other symptoms some of us keep getting.

So , i will continue this torture until my next follow up , which is in a month, and if this is treatment has cured me, then i will let you all know, but for now, I see (feel no itch) the light at the end of the tunnel.

Good luck to you all

Re: Chronic Red Burning Scrotum Thread 8

Just to let everyone know, i have found my cure- it has been 4 weeks and my symptoms are almost all but a distant memory

I used coconut oil in a latex, non powder glove and tied it on to my balls and penis, leaving it before changing it every 12 hours, for a total of 3 days.

when the itch came back i would do it again but only for 12 hours. and I would be in a hot environment until i sweat too(i was on holiday somewhere tropical). maybe it's eczema and blocked sweat ducts. i dont know, but it works for me and at least one other who i heard it from.

one thing i've noticed is that as soon as put the glove and oil on, my symptoms were completely gone. the itch, the creeping feeling, everything. if that's not the case with you, it may not work.

best of luck
